Short answer: an effective anti aging routine pairs a retinoid for renewal, a Vitamin C antioxidant for protection, peptides for firmness, and daily sunscreen. Dr. Batniji Skincare offers each of these as a physician selected serum.
What does each serum do?
- Retinol 0.5: 0.5% micro encapsulated all trans retinol designed to support skin renewal with little to no irritation, with Ferulic Acid and collagen building amino acids (Glycine, Proline, Glutamine and Arginine).
- Prevent+: 20% L Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) with 1% Ferulic Acid and 1% Vitamin E in a water free formula that maximizes Vitamin C stability.
- Peptide 7: a blend of 7 peptides, including Argireline and Palmitoyl Tripeptide 38, to improve the look of fine lines, firmness and elasticity.
- The Gold Standard: a skin plumping serum with 24K Gold flakes, Snail Secretion Filtrate and Nicotinamide for radiance and firmness.
How do I layer them?
Prevent+ can be applied morning and evening; in the morning, apply it before your moisturizer and sunscreen. Retinol 0.5 is a night serum, and The Gold Standard can be layered over your retinol in the evening. Peptide 7 pairs with Retinol 0.5 for combined smoothing and firming. Finish with a moisturizer such as Refresh.
Can I use retinol with Vitamin C?
Yes, when they are used at different times of day: Vitamin C in the morning and retinol in the evening is a common approach. If your skin is sensitive, introduce one product at a time.
Do I need sunscreen with retinol?
Yes. Daily mineral SPF is especially important when using retinol or exfoliating acids. See our mineral sunscreen guide.
